Dr. Davis Durham is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College. He is a member of the distinguished American Ophthalmological Society, and has served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Medical Center of Delaware, and as President of The Delaware Academy of Medicine. He has also been Director of Ophthalmology for Project Hope. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology, and has been active in teaching, research, and social action. He is on the staff of Wills Eye Hospital and Jefferson Medical College. He has taught in Samoa, Indonesia, Peru, Haiti, Nigeria and China, and has done cataract surgery in Nepal. He has been a pioneer in the development of surgical diamond knives and instruments to detect glaucoma. He has published extensively on topics ranging from contact lenses to cataract surgery. Dr. Durham has an area of special interest in people who are over sixty. As with any stage of life, people find that they have problems and special needs that they share with others in their age group. These areas of interest include specific problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, tearing, decreased contrast sensitivity, and difficulty with night driving to mention just a few. |
