Dr. Hugo B. Schwandt is a graduate of Temple University. He served his internship at the Delaware Hospital and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

He is a senior attending physician at the Medical Center of Delaware and St. Francis Hospital. He has served as a consultant for Delaware State Hospital and for A.I. DuPont Institute. He is Board Certified, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology

He has always been involved in the latest diagnostic and surgical methods. He was one of the first eye surgeons in Delaware to implant intraocular lenses, a technique that is now standard.
