Dr. Richard Wilson is a graduate of of Johns Hopkins University and of the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He did both his residency and Glaucoma Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, and is nationally recognized as a glaucoma specialist. He was included in "The Best Doctors in America," a list compiled from a survey of thousands of doctors, and he was chosen as one of the "Best Doctors in Philadelphia" by Philadelphia Magazine.

Dr. Wilson is currently on the staff of the Glaucoma Unit at Wills Eye Hospital. He is involved with training residents at Wills as well as at The Medical Center of Delaware. He has taught and lectured both nationally and internationally.

He has done extensive research in glaucoma, and has long been in the forefront of the newest developments in glaucoma. These involve the latest medications, laser surgery and other surgical techniques, on which he has written numerous articles. He has had many years of experience treating all types of glaucoma, and is often called in consultation by his former students and colleagues to help with especially difficult glaucoma problems.
