Stephen Franklin, M.D. (Emeritus)
A physician for over 40 years, Dr. Stephen Franklin practices general ophthalmology at Eye Physicians and Surgeons, P.A. with a special interest in cataracts and glaucoma. After completing his undergraduate education at New York University, he graduated with honors from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate College of Medicine, then interned at Indiana University Medical Center. After serving in the Captain Medical Corps of the US Army, he returned to SUNY Downstate to complete his residency, earning a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology from the University of Michigan. In 1971, he began treating the residents of Wilmington.
He is currently the senior attending physician at the Medical Center of Delaware, an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College, and a Clinical Associate at Wills Eye Hospital.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Franklin holds memberships in the following organizations:
